Subjects to Citizens Locke, the Enlightenment Free Essays

The idea of people as citizens rather than as subjects originates in 16th century Europe, during the Early Modern Period. During this period, European social order was in a state of flux as the rule of kings was confronted with a persistent and determined challenges defined by social forces that were pushing for more secular and democratic governments. There were both individuals and events that today may be seen as powerful drivers of those forces, and among them are John Locke, the Enlightenment, and the French Revolution. We will write a custom essay sample on Subjects to Citizens: Locke, the Enlightenment or any similar topic only for you Order Now As such a force, the Enlightenment, which began during the mid-17th century and remained a major political and philosophical phenomenon until approximately 1800, had tremendous impact in the rise and triumph of democracy over monarchy. The Enlightenment was catalyzed by the persistent discourse of a number of philosophers and historians, one of the foremost of which was John Locke. The magnitude of change introduced by the Enlightenment is rendered more clearly when viewing that period in context of the preceding era—the Medieval Period, during which the rule of kings prevailed, sustained by an embedded religious institutions that qualified the lineages of kings for ruler ship through divine ordainment. The Church enjoyed considerable reciprocity from the crowns by doing so, because rulers recognized the equity that religion held in the minds of their â€Å"subjects†, and found value in making mutually beneficial agreements with the church to preserve this closed loop cycle of maintaining and preserving a rigid social order. The losers of course were the â€Å"subjects† of those kingdoms, who ultimately had little say in who ruled them, and who were indoctrinated into a life of mute slavery and poverty, deprived of both education as well as the right to imagine upward social mobility, much less the access to opportunities to actually pursue such improved quality of life. It was the endpoint of these social dynamics, and the progressive deterioration of social responsibility throughout the dual leadership trees of church and crown, that catalyzed the French Revolution during the last decade of the 18th century. The French Revolution, in a nutshell, was the revolt of the long repressed peasantry against what they rightfully recognized as a corrupt governmental power cartel defined by the closed loop relationships between the crown and the Church. The French Revolution really punctuates the spirit of the Enlightenment, because the Enlightenment was all about waking people up to the notion that they had a right to select their leaders and that anybody was capable of exercising reason and logic in doing so, and most importantly that exercising those capacities was a much better answer to society’s problems than continuing to rely on superstitious belief in the right of a lineage of kings to continue ruling despite worsening social conditions. It was not until the French Revolution however that the Enlightenment really manifested full force. John Locke died nearly a century before the French Revolution, but he played a key role in developing the philosophies that activated and drove the Enlightenment, particularly through his composition of the Two Treatises. In these documents, he makes an effort to refute the notion that people do not have the capacity or knowledge or political understanding to select their own rulers. Locke’s philosophical arguments here really took those of opposing contemporaries like Sir Robert Filmer, whose viewpoints closely reflect the social order maintained by pre-Enlightenment establishment. Filmer’s Patriarcha: The Natural Power of Kings Defended Against the Unnatural Liberty of the People, a composition that presented arguments supporting the pre-existing social order of monarchic rule. The prevailing establishment justified monarchic rule through a number of arguments, both sociological and religious. Among these, they did so by arguing that a nation is like a family, with the population as the children as the king as the parent. Another argument was that to share the power of leadership in a democratic manner would be to invite and embrace the breakdown of social ethics, presumably because the natural disposition of a populace is to chafe under rules and laws and to desire more freedom, and that the endpoint of this would be excessive liberties, the deterioration of morality and ultimately the rise of an era where selfish and unjust rulers would take power. Rulers believed that the population simply could not, nor would they ever in a sustainable manner be capable of, responsibly selecting its own leaders. Locke challenged these ideas by introducing the concept of the Commonwealth, which would be defined by a social contract whereby the members of the Commonwealth participate in surrendering a certain level of liberty in order to ensure the stability of society and the preservation of the community. This surrender would only be the minimum required to preserve the peace, safety and security of the commonwealth, and part of this would involve the implementation of a democratic or republican system by which citizens would have at least a representative body in the government to ensure their needs were addressed. Notably, this was a key factor that activated in the French peasantry a desire to overthrow the First and Second estates, which they felt were taxing them without caring for their needs or interests. Productivity Costs in Economic Evaluations

Question: Discuss about the Productivity Costs in Economic Evaluations. Answer: Introduction: Opportunity cost is described as an advantage that an individual could have received however; they give it up in order to take another course of action. According to an economists, the opportunity cost of a resource is the value of the next highest-valued choice use of that particular resource (Pereiro, 2015). The term opportunity in opportunity cost is actually unnecessary. The essay provides an overview about the concept of opportunity cost in economics and the role it plays to provide a distinction between explicit and implicit cost. The concept of opportunity cost leads with the concept of scarcity. It indicates the value of the subsequently best opportunity. Explicit costs are the costs that necessitate a money payment, on the other hand, implicit costs do not necessitate a money payment and opportunity cost comprises both implicit and explicit costs. Opportunity costs are more than explicit costs as opportunity costs also comprise implicit costs. The concept of opportunity cost relies on the net proceed generated (Krol Brouwer, 2014). The most common example of opportunity cost includes the fact that if a player attends a basketball training rather than going for a vacation, the opportunity was the vacation. Similarly, the opportunity cost of going for a vacation rather than investing the money on a new car is not getting a new car. Opportunity cost plays a decisive role in analyzing the capital structure of a business. Opportunity cost is calculated by subtracting the return of selected option from the retur n of most profitable option (Zane, DiRenzo DeCarolis, 2014). Opportunity cost is imperative to determine the comparative prices of commodities. In other words, if a particular factor is used to produce one table or four chairs; in that case, the price of one table will be inclined to be four tines equal to that of one chair. The concept of opportunity cost is also required to fix the price of a factor. Implicit costs comprise the attributed value of the resources and services of the entrepreneur. This is mostly because; implicit costs are self-owned and self-employed assets. Explicit includes wages, salaries as well as costs of those raw materials that are used in the production. Implicit costs are however; ignored while calculating the expenses of production. The explicit costs are recorded in the account books of a firm. Interest payments on borrowed funds as well as utility expenses are part of explicit costs (Studer Knecht, 2016). An explicit cost describes direct payments that are made to others in the course of operating a business. Explicit costs are used to provide an apparent concept of the profit and performance of the company. Explicit costs are mostly used to compute opportunity costs. It is calculated by adding up the explicit and implicit costs of not performing a movement. The acquisition of a vehicle by a trade indicates an explicit cost as the equipment is essentially purchased. Explicit costs have a paper path that provides documentation of audit. Explicit costs are also regarded as out-of-pocket cost that refers to payments that are essentially made. Explicit costs mostly include expenses of travel as well as cost of a hotel room (Kurzban et al., 2013). An implicit cost is a cost that already takes place however; it is not inevitably illustrated as a separate expense. Implicit cost illustrates an opportunity cost that takes place when a company distributes internal resources towards a project devoid of any explicit recompense for the utilization of resources. In other words, when a company distributes its resources, it always gives up the capacity to earn money off the use of the resources elsewhere. Implicit costs are not perceptible in a financial system. Implicit costs are described as the opportunity costs of factors of production that a producer already possesses and it also indicates a tradeoff. A paper manufacture firm may possess a grove of trees and the implicit cost of that natural resource is the impending market price the firm could receive. An implicit cost is the largest advantage that could have resulted from the usage of the funds as they are implicit costs are more restrained (Marglin, 2014). It can be thus concluded that opportunity cost holds an imperative place in the theory of economics. The production of a particular commodity is possible at the expense of another commodity. Implicit cost is mostly associated with trade-off of an action. It is also related to explicit costs that in turn indicates the actual cost of an activity. It can also be concluded that implicit costs are unrecognized costs that are realized by firms when it makes use of assets as well as resources for one project over another. Jobs Are Not For Everyone Essays - Nelle A. Coley, Pedagogy

Jobs Are Not For Everyone Essays - Nelle A. Coley, Pedagogy Jobs Are Not For Everyone In the eighteen years I have been on this planet there are a few important things I have learned. One of the most important things I have learned is that jobs are not for me, at least not at this point in my life. Many different employers have employed me and I have had a taste of what the job world is all about, but I don?t want any part of it. Every job I have had has had people above me who were not always the most intelligent people around. There is nothing I hate more than unintelligent people telling me what to do. I have worked at a grocery store, a trailer campground, a beach and a pool, all of which I have had mentally inferior superiors. But of the jobs I have listed, the one place that is the worst to work at is a grocery store. The tasks one is asked to do as an employee of a grocery store are unimaginable. I think that being employed, especially to a grocery store, is not a good idea for teenagers because there are usually unintelligent people running them, it infringes on teenage lives, and some aspects of most jobs are disgusting. Bosses are probably the most difficult part of being employed to me. At the grocery store that I worked at for a short period of time, I remember being constantly pulled aside and being told that I wasn?t bagging the groceries properly. The strange part was that when my boss would tell me these things he would always take me to isle seven to yell and scream at me. Why couldn?t he take me into his office where it would be private? Instead he would make a big scene in front of all the old women shopping for those lovely canned foods and completely embarrass me. I never understood that. There was another reason why I knew my boss wasn?t the brightest candle on the cake. I always had to remind him that I only worked on Mondays and Wednesdays, but he could never grasp the concept. For some reason he was convinced that I worked everyday. Two days out of the five days I didn?t work I would get a call from good old Bob asking ? why aren?t you here yet I would always say ? Bob, don?t you reme mber, I only work two days a week, and this isn?t one of them.? Then he would say ? Oh yea, sorry kid, see ya? tomorrow?. So that was a frequent thing for Bob. Over all I would say that most bosses are strange people to deal with, and hard people to work for, and there is enough confusion in a teenager?s life without someone like Bob to add a little more. Being in high school is a busy time of one?s life, and having a job makes it even busier. For myself, I think that having a boss that wasn?t that bright made things even harder. One time I can recall where my job really interfered with my life was when I had tickets to go see a concert. Unfortunately I had to work that day. I did not see any big problem with this; I would just take the day off. Not with Bob around. To someone like him, groceries are life and they should be for everyone, especially me. Well little did he know that this little situation would end my employment with that wonderful shopping facility. I told him I wanted to see this show and he pulled out the big gun; he said ? Son, I don?t want to be a jerk but if you?re going to miss work for some concert, I?ll have to ask you to leave, for good.? I told him I understood and needless to say I left. Come on, how many times does your favorite band come to town? I think it was well worth it. I am only a teenager once and I will work the rest of my life. Jobs and teens do not mix. The worst part of employment is the nasty little tasks one must perform while on duty. Every job

SWOT Analysis of Business Plan for the Education Website Assignment

SWOT Analysis of Business Plan for the Education Website - Assignment Example This paper discusses about an Educational Website Business Plan as a business venture as available on the site: http://www.bplans.com/educational_website_business_plan/executive_summary_fc.php Details of the Business Plan under Consideration The Education Website Business is basically to educate people as to why they should use environmentally products that can sustain living on this earth. Due to rapid industrialization and growth of population, there has been a grave threat to our environment. Rapid climate changes such as floods, cyclones, or scanty rain falls throughout the world have threatened our living on this planet. A time has come to educate the people on this very sensitive matter and earn the living adopting eco friendly measures. The purpose of the website is to guide and educate people that with a little change in their living style and consumption habits they can make huge difference. The revenue comes in the form of commission received on selling products that can su stain life and do not harm our environment. As such, it does not require stocking or maintaining any inventory of products. Thus, plan is to keep expenses at the least and without involvement of any variable cost. A small Fixed expenses will be toward maintaining a website and very little will be spent on other small requirements. To make profit from the first year is not a sole aim; however, equally it has been kept in mind that business does not have negative cash flows. SWOT analysis will be crucial to understand the viability of this business plan. Strengths of the Plan This is a unique business plan and their lies its strength compared with any conventional business plan. The advantage is that it does not need huge financial resources for any machinery or equipment; neither any hard core marketing is required. This being a novel concept does not pose any threat in terms of real competition. The company has tied with several manufacturers who themselves, in turn, are staunch sup porters of eco friendly products. They produce and sell only those products which replace existing non biodegradable products such as plastics and bio fuels. Marketing means efforts required in popularizing the web site and that is done through link building and SEO techniques requiring minimal expense. Break even and financial ratio analysis indicates that business plan can take off without long gestation period. The business plan for an educative website like this is to provide the information to the people that are in search of environmentally friendly products. Ever since the awareness among people has increased, the market has also expanded many folds for such products. Currently, there are hundreds of businesses that exclusively manufacture such products. Since this is purely an education site, there is no need to create any distribution strategies; neither there is any need to keep any inventories on any of the product. People just visit the site, place their orders and make the payments. Orders are then diverted to the respective manufacturers deducting applicable discounts or commissions for delivery to the buyer. There is no need of any highly trained person for running this business and that is also strength of this business plan. Weaknesses The major weakness in the business plan is that it does not speak clearly how educative content will be developed in the beginning. In fact, it will require intense efforts either through search optimization techniques (SEO) or link building or through other techniques such as educative articles or schemes for environmental cause for making the buyers to visit this site. Great efforts will be needed to generate unique and educative

President Barack Obama Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

President Barack Obama - Research Paper Example Obama achieved national attention during his time as a senator. Encouraged by his popularity and determination to excel, Obama ran for the Democratic Presidential Candidacy for the 2008 presidential election and won the party nomination beating Hilary Rodham Clinton. He went on to win the presidential election and sworn in as president on 20th January, 2009. Later in the year Obama also achieved the honor of being the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate of 2009 (Gormley). As a patriot and loyalist countryman, Obama had a very lucid vision about his country which he wanted his fellow countrymen to adopt; the vision of unity, accord and common good (Price). In his address to the Democratic National Convention in 2004 he said: There’s not a liberal America or a conservative America, there’s United States of America. There’s not a Black America and White America and Latino America and Asian America, there’s United States of America. We are one people, all of us pledgin g allegiance to the Stars and Stripes, all of us defending the United States of America. Obama had to face a lot of challenges soon after assuming the office of the President of the United States most significant of which were the dwindling economy and effectual exit from the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and Job Creation Act, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform, Consumer Protection Act and the Budget Control Act are some of the most important legislative measures taken by the Obama administration which are being deemed as very effective and successful for solving issues related to worsening economic conditions and social welfare. Obama achieved remarkable success in foreign policy in the form of the death of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden after a successful military operation in a mountain town in Pakistan, the ouster of undemocratic and tyrant government of Muammar Gaddafi in Libya and the success of strategic exit of forces from Iraq and Afghanistan, the process which is still underway. Gaining confidence from the success of his domestic and foreign policies, Obama declared his intensions for re-election in the 2012 Presidential Elections (Horn). Obama was born in Hawaii to parents of ethnically diverse descent; his father was an African from Kenya while his mother was of Irish descent. Obama had to struggle to understand his multiracial origin during his childhood. To further complicate things, after getting divorced his mother remarried an Indonesian student and had to move to Indonesia when Suharto, a military leader of Indonesia called back all Indonesian students from foreign universities, that is why Obama spent his early childhood in Indonesia and owing to this he is very popular in Indonesia. Obama came back to US and started living with his maternal grandparents in Hawaii where he attended high school. Being brought up in a multiracial culture was not very easy for Obama to understand as a child because multiracial background was not very common in the US at that time however it helped him having an expansive vision he practiced in his political life and enabled him to develop the quality of understanding the aspirations of people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds (Hill). Being an African American

A Conversation of Authors and Scriptures Personal Statement

A Conversation of Authors and Scriptures - Personal Statement Example I'm enthusiastic in comprehending what exactly happens when someone is writing and how I can learn the art of writing. By the way, I realize that every author is keen about the choice of words and, according to Stevenson, "the first merit which attracts in the pages of a good author, or the talk of a brilliant conversationalist, is the apt choice and contrast of words employed." (Stevenson, 2) Therefore, every author will be very careful about the choice of their words and other such techniques. Teacher: You said it exactly. Writing is an art which every student needs to comprehend during his or her course of study and I really appreciate your efforts to learn the process of writing. Writing is also a cognitive process and every writer makes several revisions to his/her writing. It is also important for the beginners to concentrate on bringing judgments based on their own experience in writing. Let us remember that "Sommers notes the disparity between how writing textbooks teach composting and how experienced writers really compose and she calls for careful research into cognitive processes in writing In "I Stand Here Writing" (1993), Sommers again emphasizes that students should bring judgments based on their own experience to their writing of academic essays." (Babin and Harrison, 95) Therefore, the student authors should be cautious about producing their strong voices in their writing and about the process of making revisions. That is to say, the students, following the a dults, need to revise at the global level rather than revising at word or sentence level. Sommers: Of course, what all things the teacher told you are greatly useful to the student writers. In fact, they are the results of my important research on students' writing practices. As I can state from my personal experience, there is the immense relationship between a writer's personal life and his/her writing. A writer also should have, like Roland Barthes had, an urge toward scientific enquiry and a strong desire to write. "There is in Barthes, although not stressed either by him or his commentators, a strong, spontaneous and optimistic urge toward scientific enquiry According to a logic the crucial moment is not so much the finished product, the oeuvre, as the activity of writing, the idea of writing, and above all, the desire to write. And despite his widely admired performance as a stylist, it is only because Barthes shares this attitude that he claims recognition as a poet himself" (Lavers, 32) Barthes: Yeah, you are obviously right Sommers. However, you need to emphasize my important point: my critique of the French classical style of writing. In my book Writing Degree Zero, I "was concerned with the French classical style of writing. This style, which emerged in court society in the seventeenth century, prided itself upon clarity and preciseness of expression, and set itself up as a universal model of standard for all writing." (Strinati, 98) However, I realized that the French classicism was neither neutral nor natural and inevitable. My book Writing Degree Zero developed a style which rejects the idea of politically committed writing and values colourless, transparent, neutral, blank and impersonal writing style.     Ã‚

An estimated figure of the industry market is $400 billion and there are more chances of growth in the coming years, according to the saying in 2001of the research analyst that textile industry will grow 25% in 2002 to 2010 and there figure was true and in 2010 the figure accumulates to $480 billion and in the coming few years it will further grow. Toady, every country is putting his hands in this business and trying to give his best. Britain was the first country who just gave a new life to the textile industry by making machinery for the textile industry and the slowly it spread over the whole market of the world. Global Economy By Global economy means economy of all the countries. Because, international economy is the name when the economy of all countries comes together. There are factors which makes international economy which are, trade, investment, economical alliance of the countries and migration. The economy of a country can be measured by his GDP. According to the economists monetary values f any country whether it is USA by itself all the economies could only be measured by preferably through dollar. Global economy could be affected by different factors which includes Currency Value, Trade Restriction, Political Situations, and labor cost, etc. J.P. Morgan (Global Data watch) There are countries who contributes in a huge /wide range to the global economy Countries contribution to the global economy: First thing through which all the countries of the world contribute to the global economy is Politics because though politics here are many things which came into existence in the form of contribution to the global economy. Secondly, trade is most appropriate and unique way of contribution in the global economy. There are so many other factors which contribute in a large amount to the global economy. According to the facts and figure including china and Japan, USA, France and Germany are the largest economies of the world because they gives an output which is not in comparison of others. Because they give best output in the very field, like food, labor, imports and exports which gave them a top level. There are other countries too which comes in the list of top ten countries of the world who contribute a large amount in global economy. This list includes brazil, Italy Canada and some other countries. However, beside this great contribution by all the countries global economy is still providing a figure of challenges in the form of unemployment whose rate is 30% around the world, enforcement to the labor footwork 41%, investment by public to the government plan less then 40%, and etc., All the countries are trying to just remove these factors affecting the global economy but they cant, china is heavily providing cheap labor but this does not remove the unemployment. (WTO by Dr.Sup achai) Another important factor which is heavily affecting the economy is terrorism. Terrorism is another part of the economies of the countries which is badly affecting it. Countries and there economies are also being affected with the increase in oil prices. There is factor of global health crisis, it is true that globally health is maintained by all the countries but to some extent thy lack and they have just left some loop holes which causes bad effect on the humans life i. e., spreading diseases in the form of HIV Aids, bird flu, swine flu. There are measures to deal with these things but those are not adopted. (business-and-economy/textile-industry) As the factor terrorism is creating so much problems for the global economy so to deal with it is very important for all the countries and to deal with this factor all the countries have to come together to find out some better results. Infect, not just for the terrorism all the countries have to come together to deal with all the problem because the problems like, terrorism, Health diseases, inflation, poverty, unemployment are not small problems they are worst threats for the economies of all the countries around the world. History of textile History of textile is roughly based on these things or countries which have given a boost to the textile sector in the whole world and these countries are: Islamic Persian Excerpt from  Woven from the soul, spun from the heart Excerpt from   master pieces of Persian art safavid Turkish Chinese Indian Italian Japanese Kashmiri Lets talk abut these simple but beautiful art of textiles styles which gave a wave to the textile industry both in design and culture. (Mary Belles) Islamic Textile History: Islamic textiles are as old as the Islam itself, Islamic textiles are the master piece of the textiles industry they gave a shape and a beautiful view of the clothing system. Islamic textiles were as demanded by the all countries as now e demand for the latest verities of the design. Islam is the symbol of peace and Islamic people were having a great quality of showing there culture I n the way of coloring their cloths. The essence of Islam in Europe is also the size of their language, their impact highlighted by the West was exported widely. For example, Geffen English word mohair and Taft » and  «Highlights », any manufacturer, Arabic, Farsi. Despite its nature, a relatively small fibers of the early Islamic era is alive. At any time, value Islamic fabrics were on stretchers, cut because they are inherently weak again, over fiber. These wall decor fabrics for clothes, and is expected to be for centuries, Lucca, Siena, Venice, Florence and Genoa in the offspring of a car interior, and all kinds of horse furniture collection, providing rest of Europe. Textile Industry and Revolution in Britain By having a look at the market and at global economy I found Textile industry at his best. According to the facts and figures textile industry has grown itself at a very high rate and today textile industry is contributing at a very high level to the global economy. With the invention of spinning mills and weaving machines in Britain the whole world witnessed remarkable growth because it has reduced labor cost as well as time consumption. Lets talk about the history of textile industry, there were some major steps to be taken which were, Harvesting and clean of wool by hands Card it and spin it to thread To wave the thread into cloth Finally fashion and sew the cloth And it was all done with the human labor which consumes cost and time so it was a lassie process. According to the history America in 1786 tried first to make yarn weaving machine to reduce time and cost effecting thing s they encouraged the engineers but because of some loop holes those machineries didnt worked correctly and they sold the machinery to Moses brown Britain engineer. It was the time of revolution for the Britain. During the eighteenth century Britain got the control over the textile industry figure shows that its exports were increase 25 % due to this revolution and then as the time passed they spread it all over the world with the latest technology of machinery for the textile industry. Decline of British Industry Even though Britain was the leader because revolution was came in the Britain for first time in Textile industry but Britain lost its status in the ERA of 2000, Britains started declining itself from 1950 because the mill owner and the workers union were not combined and doing work with effort. Secondly the competitors from Japan textiles industry gave them a big defeat. With the entry of Far East and India in cotton weaving they were in a big competitive situation. With the increase in the growth of these countries Britain started to blame the political situation of the country. (Susan Wolcott) Americas wrong way to defeat the Britain The USA personnel followed the British lead by using blue prints of the Britains which were stolen by their respective personnels and by the immigration of the engineers of the British to USA, by doing this thing slowly but steadily USA made a big giant of sewing , weaving and cotton spinning mills. They used all the measures to defeat the Britain and sooner they became the leader of the market. Asian Textile Industry America has enjoyed an ERA of being at the top of textile industry but then they got a situation of great rivals in the form Asian competetors. America tried hard to improve the material quality; although America was having an edge over the quality of machinery but due to cheap labor and low material cost Asian countries take the control from USA this thing gave him a big defeat, and because of the cancellation of MFA the developing countries got an edge over the success rate then USA. Although it was not a god idea but Asian countries were still getting the best out of it. Being the holder of market Asian countries got the best share rating, India was at 20 %,and china was representing a share of 45% according to the proceeding of 2010.other the these two countries Pakistan, Bangladesh and some other countries are also trying there best to gave quality production. Because, these countries are awarded of this fact that if they will produced quality production then they will get foreign investment and their economy will boost and there are so many chances to come at the top. There is round figure investment in china according to the stock market and global market analysis in 2010 there was a 100 bln investment in china in textile sector of foreign countries. There are some other factor which gives ways to become at the top, these includes, Growth Drivers Seasons cheer If we look at the customer his taste changes and this is the most important factor which china and other Asian countries have adopted, they are changing their designs and fashion with the change in time to remain at the top. There are mild signs are seen for the success of textile industry in Asian countries. (Mary Bellies) With some rough facts and figures this thing came into being that round about 45 % of the dyes were purchased by the Asian countries from the global market which accumulates to an amount of 16 million USD and this is just the figure off Asian country means Asian countries textile contribution in international market as well as in their local market is a t a very high level. Methodology This research has been conducted qualitatively. We have looked and gathered data from many different resources which include, Books, Websites, Articles Published In journals. First of all we have just looked at the global economy about the contribution of the different countries I to the international/global economy, then we looked into the local economies of the countries and gathered data to analyze the differences of the countries contribution to the global economy. We have also looked for the challenges difficulties that countries are facing during their success. Through this research we have been clarified that at the start Britain were the leader but then Asian countries got a boost and captured the textile industry. Results and Findings Chinas Textile Industry: IF we talk about china it is having a long history, the textile industry of china is a conventional cutthroat industry, industry of china at this time is playing a main role in development of national economy. More on textiles are also the main exports of china. According to the figures of 2009 with the provocation of the economic situation, Chinese government issued an array of industrial supporting policies including increase in the export rate. The figures also show that china was having a sustained growth in 2005. But, there growth started to boost up in 2007. And in 2009 Chinese realized that there sales revenue has grown from 2.01 to 10.32%. This was a great rise for the Chinese although according to them their rat has gone down but still they are having better results. Although china was at a success but he was having a threat. His biggest threat was his rival countries which include Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Indonesia; All these countries were also enjoying the same level position as china. And juts like china Pakistan, India and Bangladesh also having cheap labor and raw material of best quality.. Indian Textile Industry India is at the second spot in the field of textile and he is also enjoying the benefits just like china and other countries. Indias textile industry plays a role in the stabilization of his economy. The contribution of India in his economy from just textile sector is 35 %, It accumulates to the at least one third of the total contribution from all other sector which means Indias textile sector splaying a role of backbone of his country. History shows that by the end of 19th century, domestic wool production of India was having a transformation that was largely attributable to imposing rule. Indias textile industry is mostly based on small scale , spinning, weaving, finishing and apparel making enterprises. Research shows that India accounts to 22% of world spiritless capacity. Its spinning sector consists of 1,161 small scale independent firms and 1,566 larger scale. (Susan Wolcott) India has grown it sector on textile by giving it more preference rather then other sectors because he knows the situation of the market , Indian government also support the textiles industry that it should grow as much as it can. India is not just having a share in just local markets market but India is having a name in the international market. India has gain more then any other country it also some value when its currency gain some appreciation in international market. Indian government took many steps to boost the textiles economy, government started many different projects at small level and at big level. There is no doubt that Indian textile industries future is bright and there are many chances of India to becoming at that number one spot. Asia is the eighth largest exporter of Pakistani textile products. The total GDP contribution of neunyi sector is 8.5%. It provides employment for approximately 1,500 ten thousand people, about 49 million U.S. dollars from 30% of the workforce of the country. 18 trillion world trade volume of textiles, which is the annual U.S. total of 2.5% . Among them, Pakistans share is less than 1 percent. Development of the manufacturing sector has been given the highest priority A major stress on agro-based industries in Pakistan and since its establishment. The worlds leading producers of cotton was one of the Pakistan examples; take advantage of abundant resources in the field of cotton textile industry in the direction of the development was the priority of industrialization. Currently, 1221 ginning units, 442 spinning units, spinning units are 124 425 small units of production of textile products. Highly organized industry is a large piece of cottage / small scale sector is composed. Some of the value chain of textiles and other sectors are: spinning, weaving and fabric dying industry and the most in-house finishing facilities and organization operates. Knitwear industry, mainly (Knitting + processing + maker) as an integrated unit is comprised of operating facilities. Woven garments and knits two areas mainly in Karachi, Lahore and Faisalabad are clustered enough to be working ladies. Pakistans textile industry is one of the famous textile businesses but due to uncertain situation it is lacking with the factor of success. There are so many reasons why it is not coming up. These reason are, Light problem, Governments wrong policies and so many other factors which affects the Pakistan textiles economy. If we look at the figures of the investments Pakistan has invested 23.1 million on the imports of machinery in the month of February last year. If we compare this thing or import with the India and other Asian countries Pakistan has increased it self 190%. Due to this thing new investment has started coming in Pakistan . Pakistan is having lot of potential to be the market leader. Pakistan is having cheap labor, raw material better machinery and that entire skilled person which are necessary to run a textile business in a country. Germanys Textile Industry When we come to talk of style in clothing Germany is on the number position, Germany is having a history of manufacturing great design in clothing . History shows Germany is manufacturing, innovative clothing and his flexibility in design making has made him one of the top country in textile industry. Today, when we talk abut the production of textile including, clothing, home textiles and technical textile. Government divide in into 3 percentages from which 30% goes to clothing, 30% to home textiles and 40% to the technical textiles. If w take this output and measure all the countries Germany is at the top like the government of all other countries the government of Germany is also considering it one of most important part of the country economic contribution factor. (German Business portal) Textile industry in Germany in numbers: 2008, turnover recorded up to EUR 20 Billion Clothing up to 42%, textiles 58% which comes to the total turnover of 2008. Technical textiles alone accumulates to the 45 % There export quota has reached to 42.7% Imports of textiles reached to EUR 30 Being the second main importer of the textiles in the world Germany has faced an increase in the demand of his material in the pats few years. Being the most power textiles supplier in the world Germany is also acing some of the main problems which all the other countries are facing. Germany has categorized its textiles into five categories naming as, Enshede Textile Remanats Rix and co immerath Trevira Webbgpinnerei 1 Webbgpinnerei 3 Supporting Institutions (Many foreign organizations want to establish themselves successfully in the German market, manufacture and support. The most important associations of the textile industry are: à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¢ organization of the German textile and fashion industry à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¢ Textination à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¢ German Institute of Textile Retailers à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¢ German Federation of Purchasing and marketing group, 1. Buy (ZGV) and Group Marketing Federation of German   mid umbrella organization of trade in services and technology transactions and the arts in Germany. 220 000 purchase and cooperatives representing 320 member companies ZGV. Bangladesh Textile Industry Bangladesh is also growing day by day, It has introduced it self as the master planner of the textile industry. If we look at the history and the current situation of the Bangladesh textile industry has become the back bone of the Bangladesh. If we look at the history of Bangladesh, after its foundation tea and jute were the most export oriented sectors. But, a rival named as flood was a big enemy of the Bangladesh which decreased the jute production in Bangladesh. This industry was employing 3 million workers whose 90% strength was based on womens. Bangladesh was in a situation of poverty he was not able to understand what he has done and what he has to do in this current situation at that textile was new in the field they came with the idea of employing those worker in to the textile sector. After adoption of this thing Bangladesh got a growth and make his position in the market. From 1995 to 2005 Bangladesh was in a situation of agreement of textile businesses with the other countries. In the period of 2003 Bangladesh imported a machinery for the sector of textile worth 31 million. And after having success in 2007 41 million euros of latest machinery. Germany exports to the countries have been reduced after the entry of Bangladesh now to the like china, Pakistan and India Bangladesh export rather then Germany. By having a closer look at the textile sector of Bangladesh Bangladeshi government stated to help and started making investment in this sector. A Huge amount was invested by government in this sector for the purchase of machinery. There is huge list of companies working in Bangladesh: Shan Kniting and processing LTd. Mechano Labiba Trading Sikder buyimng Ltd Topstyle Alif Pvt ltd Vertex and dà ©cor Mona yam sweater complex And many other companies. They are playing a big role in the growth of economy of Bangladesh. Conclusion The above mentioned discussion on the textile industry relating to the different countries of the world we came with the result that all the countries whether they are at the top or at the low level all are struggling to gave his best out of what he got. All the countries are facing some major problems like, According to the facts and figure including china and Japan, USA, France and Germany are the largest economies of the world because they gives an output which is not in comparison of others. Because they give best output in the very field, like food, labor, imports and exports which gave them a top level. There are other countries too which comes in the list of top ten countries of the world who contribute a large amount in global economy. Another important factor which is heavily affecting the economy is terrorism. As the factor terrorism is creating so much problems for the global economy so to deal with it is very important for all the countries and to deal with this factor all the countries have to come together to find out some better results. Infect, not just for the terrorism all the countries have to come together to deal with all the problem because the problems like, terrorism, He alth diseases, inflation, poverty, unemployment are not small problems they are worst threats for the economies of all the countries around the world. But, with all these problems all the countries are still having great turnover, great quality of production. They are giving great competition to their rival industry , almost all Asian country who indulged themselves ij this sector are having a lot of trouble but at the same time they are enjoying good things.

Higher Education and Society :: Learning School Teaching Essays

Higher Education and Society Attending public schools as a child, I remember learning the basic skills on how to add and subtract, read, and write. These basic skills are necessary in order to function in our society and work force in the United States. As we all know each child learns differently, some learn faster than others and some slower than others. Our public schools have become overcrowded and we do not have enough teachers to fit the needs of each student. Some students get left behind and are not learning the skills needed to move on to the next level. What these students are not learning they can learn in higher education such as a college or university. In this report, I would like to express the importance of a higher education. I will use the works of John Henry Newman, Jon Spayde and Mike Rose, all three writers believe in having an educated society. Our students’ needs are changing, there are a growing number of immigrants with children coming to the United States from all over the world. They bring with them the language and culture of their country. The age in which they arrive to the United States determines how well they learn English and what skills they will need to acquire to become productive in our society. The task of teaching our children the basic skills is becoming harder and harder each day, making it harder for our education system to achieve their goals. There are a high number of students graduating from high school who does not have the skills needed to meet the needs of the work force in our society. A higher level of learning is needed to make our society literate. The relationship between college and university are influential in our society. To have an educated society in the United States brings a safe and peaceful environment to live in. Society is defined as "a group of people with a common culture or a way of life. A group of people who unite to share a common interest" (Holt, Rinehart and Winston 678). An educated society also avoids social problems such as poverty, gangs, drugs and health related sickness. Most of all, having an educated society helps our country’s economy. For example, a citizen that acquires a college degree earns respect and can get a good job that pays well.
